Music Magnate breaks through!

Promising 3yo galloper Music Magnate continued Written Tycoon’s brilliant recent run with a strong victory in the Plate today at Warwick Farm over 1000 metres.

Trained by the in-form Bjorn Baker, Music Magnate came into today’s race after a solid debut 2nd at Newcastle.

Stripping fitter today Music Magnate sat just off the speed before unleashing a strong sprint in the straight to easily account for Kipling by 1.5 lengths with Kind Heart a further 0.2 lengths away in 3rdplace.

A $45,000 purchase from the New Zealand Bloodstock National Sale Music Magnate is the second winner by Written Tycoon for the Baker stable, his first winner Hanwritten was sold for a hefty six figure sum to Hong Kong after a good debut victory at Newcastle.

Music Magnate’s victory was also a triumph for NSW Breaking in and Pre Training outfit Cobbitty Lodge who broke in the horse and race him in partnership.

Cobbitty Lodge have also enjoyed good success with Written Tycoon having raced Hanwritten with Baker and also Group 3 winner Trump, a galloper also on sold for healthy profit to Hong Kong.

Music Magnate has continued a fantastic run for Written Tycoon highlighted this season by dual Group 2 winner Rich Enuff.

In the last week Written Tycoon had a strong winner in Hong Kong in Country Melody and a stakes/city double with Danger Close and Tycoon Tara.

Music Magnate is the second quality galloper to come from the Written Tycoon/Danehill Dancer cross. The Robbie Griffiths trained It is Written, a dual listed winner of over $495,000 in prize money being the other.

Music Magnate is the 3rd foal from placed Danehill Dancer mare Concert Girl, a mare sold for just $9,000 at the 2011 William Inglis Great Southern Sale in Melbourne.

Concert Girl is a half-sister to stakes winners Marrok a Group 2 Wellington Guineas winner as well as Group 3 winning South African galloper Appeal Process.

Concert Girl’s grand dam Chaleyer was a very handy staying filly who won the AJC St Leger and Adrian Knox Stakes and placed in the VRC Oaks and Canterbury Guineas.
